Similar in form and proportion to the much-loved, shell-shaded 5321 Table Lamp that followed it, the 9209 has a distinctive brass shade that has led to it being referred to as the ‘Kypärä’ – the Finnish word for ‘helmet’.

The shade is decorated with triangular patterns of perforation which requires a specialist punch tool and the utmost precision to achieve by hand. This decorative signature of Paavo Tynell allows pinpricks of light through, creating a soft, textured glow and a starlightlike sparkle.
